Expressing God's Heart Through Giving - A Christmas Project In Spain

Updated: Apr 25, 2023

The Reach Someone Foundation exists to improve the quality of life for people around the world. In December 2022, we partnered with the project Una Cena De Navidad 2022 in Guadix Granada, Spain, and recently received a report of the results of our prayers, support, and financial contributions that we would like to share with you.

Project directors Julio and Adriana Olmos reached out to share the results of the project. With the help of The Reach Someone Foundation, they were able to support 30 families from different towns in the region: Guadix, Dolar, Menalua, and Popera. Each family received a basket with everything needed to have Christmas dinner. Inside each basket were a copy of the Gospels of John and Luke and a DVD of the movie Magdalena.

Our donations were also able to help bless children from low-income neighborhoods with social and economic problems. Many of these children come from dysfunctional families and suffer from neglect and abuse. In Spain, it is not customary for children to receive Christmas gifts; rather, they celebrate Three Kings Day on January 6. Children expect these three kings to bring a gift to them, but due to poverty, many of our children do not receive anything from the Three Kings. This year, however, they received something from the King of Kings, Jesus.

The team prepared a gift basket for each child that included everything needed for breakfasts and snacks at school: croissants, milk, juice, bread, chocolate protein shakes, cereals, and more. They also included personal care items like toothpaste, soap, sponges, and toothbrushes. Along with these items that ministered to their physical needs, they were given an illustrated book about the story of Jesus and a small toy. The joy on their faces, as they received these gifts, was priceless!

Julio and Adrian extended their sincere gratitude for our partnership in blessing these families and children. We exist to reach those who lack basic necessities and extend the love of Jesus through a hand of service, and that’s what we did this Christmas. Thank you for helping us Reach Someone!
